I lost my Fitbit One on a Sunday in a public park in a city I was visiting. Long shot to get it back, right? The following Saturday, I went to the area where I thought I’d lost it, and when I opened the Fitbit app, it synced! I knew it was there somewhere.
My friend and I searched and searched in the grass, to no avail. She suggested looking for an app, and I said, “No, the Fitbit doesn’t have GPS,” and she said, "Well there’s an app for everything”. So I searched available apps and found that they use Bluetooth (derp).
I downloaded a free one and that either wasn’t going to work or was going to take way too long. I decided to try this one, and it only took between 5 and 10 minutes to find the Fitbit One in the grass!
It was a bit tricky, with the meter going from Cold to Warm and back to Cold. When it got up to Warmer, I just dropped to the ground and started combing through the grass. It was buried pretty deeply, and I would never have found it without this app.
